SEVENTEEN’s full-group activities hit a pause with Jeonghan’s military enlistment in September. After that, the group continued with 11 members for a while as Jun was filming his acting projects in China.
More recently, SEVENTEEN, joined by Jun, held their annual fanmeeting “SEVENTEEN in Carat Land” on March 20 and 21. Their 10th debut anniversary project was teased on the final day of the fanmeeting. However, details about the project and members’ participation were not revealed at the time.
The 13-member K-pop boy band is once again returning as a full group in May with a full-length album. As exclusively reported by Star News on March 24, all SEVENTEEN members will reunite for a comeback with a brand-new album, set to drop on May 26.
Their debut anniversary is on May 26th, the day they first performed live on MBC’s music reality program in 2015. Their debut mini-album “17 CARAT” was released three days later, on May 29.
Notably, SEVENTEEN members have begun fulfilling their mandatory military service since last year. Jeonghan enlisted as a social worker in September, and Wonwoo will enlist on April 3. Following his enlistment, Wonwoo will release two more songs and a cover to honor his late mother.
To mark their 10th debut anniversary, the group pre-recorded their upcoming album together as a complete unit before the members began their military enlistments. Following Jeonghan and Wonwoo, Hoshi and Woozi will likely begin their military service after the release of the full-length album in May.
This upcoming album is especially meaningful, as it will be SEVENTEEN’s final comeback as a complete group until the members return from their military service. They are releasing a studio album nearly 8 months after the release of their mini-album “SPILL THE FEELS”, which debuted at No. 5 on Billboard 200.
The album became a double-million seller by selling 2,494,180 copies on release day and 3 million copies (3,066,825) in the next five days.
In other news, SEVENTEEN will make history as the first K-pop act to headline Mexico’s ‘Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025’ on April 4. The group will then travel to Japan for a series of fan meetings:
They will meet fans at Kyocera Dome Osaka on April 24 and 26-27, and at Saitama Super Arena on May 10-11.
