SEVENTEEN’s Jeonghan is gearing up to take a temporary leave from the spotlight as he prepares to fulfill his mandatory military service.
On September 12, PLEDIS Entertainment announced his enlistment date in an official statement, saying, “We wish to share the news of JEONGHAN’s upcoming enlistment into the military, scheduled for September 26, 2024.”
As confirmed earlier, the label stated that he will not take part in the promotional activities for SEVENTEEN’s 12th mini album and the world tour.
However, pre-recorded content featuring Jeonghan will be released sequentially as a special treat to CARATs.
The 28-year-old K-pop singer will be enlisting quietly without any official ceremony. PLEDIS requested CARATs not to visit the military camp, stating, “There will be no official event on the day of his enlistment, and we kindly request that you refrain from visiting the site of his military service.”
Jeonghan performed for the last time before enlistment at Lollapalooza Berlin on September 8. In addition, he attended the fan sign event in Beijing with fellow SEVENTEEN members.
There is good news for CARATs as he has participated in filming the music video for the October comeback. Although he will not join in comeback promotions, fans will get to see him in the MV.
Lastly, Jeonghan, the first SEVENTEEN member to enlist, will serve in the military until June 25, 2026. S.Coups was originally set to enlist first, he received a medical exemption due to his knee injury.
