SEVENTEEN leader S.Coups recently addressed Carats regarding his brother’s café for the third time this month. The 30-year-old idol made it clear that he does not want fans to visit the establishment for his sake.
In his Weverse post on September 26, he explained that he had refrained from mentioning anything negative since so many good things are happening lately. He was referencing his recent runway debut at the BOSS SS26 show and unit debut with bandmate Mingyu. S.Coups admitted that he and his older brother have faced some issues.
These days, there are many good things happening and with the unit coming up, I don’t want to bring up anything negative, so I’ve been holding it in. But my hyung and I have lots of this and that kind of issues, so while I can’t say anything about Carats going to that café because they like it, I personally don’t want people to spend money there for my sake or because of me. If you have Carats around you, please help pass along this message!
While he acknowledged that he cannot stop people from visiting the café if they genuinely enjoy it, he emphasized that he does not like the idea of fans spending money there because of him. He asked fans to share this request with others, so the message could reach as many Carats as possible.
This is not the first time he has shared such a message with fans about the café. On September 17, he shut down rumors of any connection with the establishment, saying, “I keep seeing videos of the café, it has no relation to me, I would appreciate it if you don’t buy/consume.’
The following day, S.Coups again posted, “Please let Carat know (about this)… I know a lot of CARATs follow and visit!”
His post spread quickly online, and some netizens speculated it hinted at family issues or tension with his brother. This led to rumors of conflict even though S.Coups never shared details about their relationship.
Many fans defended him and explained that his words were about setting boundaries rather than revealing personal problems. They said his brother has the right to run his business separately and should not be linked to S.Coups’ career as an idol. Fans also emphasized that spreading unfounded rumors about his family was harmful and they noted that his request was simply meant to protect his privacy and his brother’s independence.
On the work front, S.Coups group SEVENTEEN will continue their world tour, New_, in other countries after kicking off this month. In addition, Mingyu and S.Coups subunit (CxM) will release their 6-track album, Hype Vibes, on September 29, featuring the title track Fiesta, and a collab song 5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman) with Lay Bankz.
