SF9 members are speaking out about Rowoon’s unexpected departure from the group.
SF9 shared their journey of growth and change since their debut in 2016 during an interview to celebrate the release of their new mini album FANTASY.
SF9 made their first comeback with album Sequence in January this year after the departure of Rowoon in September 2023.
Despite leaving the group in 2023, he remains on good terms with SF9. He showed his support during the title song BIBORA promotions in January by promoting the album on social media and even joining the group for a special unit performance at the FNC Family Concert “Kingdom.”
During the interview, the members were asked about Rowoon exit and how their relationship has changed, the SF9 leader shared, “Even though we are a team, aren’t each individual’s preferences different? I think the 9 of us have different goals. However, we all share the same wish for SF9 to do well.”
Youngbin assured fans that they maintain a healthy relationship, saying, “The members all cheered for Rowoon to pursue his solo goals. I personally cheer on him a lot. That’s why I feel comfortable and like Seokwoo [Rowoon’s real name]. I think we just have a comfortable and healthy relationship.”
SF9’s new album FANTASY starts a trilogy, but the group will be promoting it with only five members. Jaeyoon and Dawon are currently fulfilling their military service, while Zuho is unable to participate due to scheduling conflicts.
Previously, Zuho hinted at leaving the group through a cryptic post, fans opine that he was pushed out of the comeback since he switched agencies for acting endeavors.
Lastly, SF9 will release a new album FANTASY on August 20.
