Fans of workplace comedies and romantic K-dramas are over the moon as Shin Hye Sun (Dear Hyeri, See You in My 19th Life) and Gong Myung (Second Shot At Love, The Bride of Habaek) are in talks to headline the upcoming drama Secret Audit (literal title).
On June 4, SPOTV News and Sports Chosun exclusively reported that Gong Myung and Shin Hye Sun have been tapped to star together in a new office comedy.
Secret Audit Plot Overview
Secret Audit follows Noh Ki Joon (Gong Myung), a top-tier audit officer demoted to “morality manager” after a workplace scandal. He crosses paths with Joo In Ah (Shin Hye Sun), the sharp yet enigmatic head of the audit department. The duo navigates awkward investigations and clashing personalities—until their professional boundaries blur into unexpected attraction.
The formula of workplace comedy and romance has worked well for K-dramas. Viewers cherish the mix of office politics, quirky characters, and slow-burn romances. Office comedies like Business Proposal, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Her Private Life still boast huge popularity.
Cast and Characters
Gong Myung plays Noh Ki Hoon, who was once a star auditor who gets demoted to managing employee morality after a professional setback. Gong has built a solid filmography with his roles in Citizen of a Kind, The Bride of Habaek, and Way Back Love.
He is currently appearing in the romance drama, Second Shot at Love, which also stars Choi Sooyoung. Next, the 31-year-old Kdrama actor will work with veteran actors in the Netflix drama, Mercy for None, airing on June 6, 2025. His movies, Love Untangled and Husband in Action, will also hit theaters soon.
Shin Hye Sun plays Joo In Ah, the mysterious audit department head who oversees all workplace romances. Shin is known for her standout performances in Welcome to Samdal-ri, Mr. Queen, See You In My 19th Life, Following, and more.
She has another exciting drama in the pipeline, The Art of Sarah, set to release this year. She plays Sarah Kim, a counterfeiter trying to pass off fake luxury goods as high-end brands.
A little fun fact here, Shin Hye Sun and Gong Myung previously appeared in the 2014 Kdrama, Forever Young.
Meanwhile, Secret Audit is currently in production preparations, with casting underway. Details such as the broadcasting network and airing schedule are yet to be confirmed.
