Jin will release his sophomore album “Echo” and title track “Don’t Say You Love Me’ in a few hours. Unlike his previous MVs, he is joined by a female co-star in the music video for the lead single. It is none other than popular Kdrama actress, Shin Se Kyung.
The 34-year-old actress is grabbing immense attention for her upcoming music video collaboration with Jin. Fans and media are showing great interest in the MV, and the teasers suggest a strong chemistry between the two.
But who exactly is Shin Se Kyung, and what does Jin think about working with her?
Shin Se Kyung’s Rise to Stardom
Currently managed by The Present Co., Shin Se Kyung began her career as a child model before transitioning into acting. She entered the entertainment industry in 1998, when she was just 8 years old.
After playing small parts in numerous dramas, Shin gained stardom after her breakout role in “High Kick Through The Roof” (2009), portraying the role of a housemaid. Following that, she starred in high-profile film, “Hindsight” and drama “Deep Rooted Tree” ( 2011).
Shin Se Kyung’s career faced a setback with her project “Fashion King” (2012), which did not resonate with the audience for its controversial finale.
Despite this, she continued to play career-defining roles in many hit Kdramas “The Girl Who Sees Scent,” “Run On,” “Arthdal Chronicles,” and “Captivating The King”.
What BTS’s Jin Has Said About Shin Se Kyung
In a Q&A interview with Melon Spotlight ahead of the album release, Jin shared his thoughts on working for the first time with a female co-star.
It was my first time acting alongside an actress, so I was very awkward and clumsy. Because I was so tense, things didn’t go the way I had imagined. Still, I’m truly grateful to Shin Se Kyung for her dedicated performance. If you watch closely, you might catch me looking awkward. (laughs)

About “Don’t Say You Love Me”
Jin’s new album “Echo”, a heartfelt collection of 7 songs that explore life’s moments and emotions through echoes. Unlike his debut solo album “Happy”, which spread joy, “Echo” offers deep empathy. The album features a mix of pop and rock genres, with songs like “Nothing Without Your Love,” “Background,” “Loser,” and more.
The title track “Don’t Say You Love Me” captures the anguish of a failing relationship, where love becomes the very thing that makes it hard to move on. With a simple yet delicate melody, Jin’s vocals beautifully convey the complexity of emotions.
Meanwhile, Jin will begin promotions after the release of the album today. He will perform the new song “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on May 21.
