SHINee Onew’s first full-length album Circle was chosen as the top K-pop album of the year by none other than the prestigious American Music magazine, Billboard.
Onew’s debut full-length album Circle, which came out in March, snagged the number one spot on Billboard’s official website for The 25 Best K-Pop Albums of 2023.
According to Billboard, they praised Onew for his direct involvement in the production of his album, Circle. They highlighted his artistic expression and mentioned that he was involved in all aspects, including mixing and mastering.
The album received favorable reviews, with Billboard noting that it showcases Onew’s mature reflection based on his 15 years of experience in the industry.
They also specifically mentioned the title song ‘O (Circle)’ and the other songs included on the album.
After its release, Circle reached the top spot on the iTunes Top Album Chart in a whopping 32 regions worldwide. Not only that, it also claimed the number one position on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart, Japan’s Recochoku Daily Album Ranking, and various weekly album charts.
To top it off, it has become the Best K-pop Album of 2023 by Billboard.
