Joy from Red Velvet has renewed her contract with SM Entertainment and celebrates her 10-year journey with the agency. It’s a big milestone for the K-pop star, who has been an integral part of Red Velvet’s success since debut.
She extended her partnership which has been in place for many years. The 28-year-old singer will continue to work with the agency and pursue various activities with their support.
On January 13, SM announced, “We are happy to continue our beautiful journey with Joy, following Seulgi and Irene. We will work hard to ensure that not only as a member of Red Velvet but also as a solo artist ‘Joy’ and as an actress ‘Park Soo Young,’ she can fully showcase her limitless potential.”
The “Tempted” actress also shared her thoughts on contract renewal, saying, “Based on the trust and conviction built over the past 10 years, I had in-depth conversations with the people I have been with and felt that I want to move forward in a good direction together.”
She added, “I will do my best to show my various sides to the fans through a positive synergy with SM.”
Red Velvet debuted in 2014 with the digital single “Happiness” and has been making waves ever since. They have delivered several hits like “Ice Cream Cake”, “Red Flavor”, “Feel My Rhythm”, and “Cosmic”. Last year, they wrapped up their 10th anniversary Asia Fan Con Tour.
Joy made her debut as a soloist with the 2021 special album “Hello”. In addition to music, she is a versatile entertainer who hosts TV shows, acts in dramas, sings OSTs, and models for fashion brands.
She appeared in many hit Kdramas such as “Tempted”, “The One And Only”, and “Once Upon a Small Town”.
