Jaehyun is set to become the second NCT member to enlist this year!
Earlier today (September 26), SPOTV News reported that the 27-year-old NCT member is set to enlist on November 4, with an expected discharge date of May 3, 2026.
Shortly after the news broke out, SM Entertainment confirmed to Dispatch that Jaehyun has been accepted into the Army Band and will begin his military service on November 4.
According to the agency, the Smoke singer applied to the Army Band and received a notice of acceptance from the Military Manpower Administration.
Notably, SM Entertainment announced that there will be no separate official event or farewell ceremony for Jaehyun’s enlistment. This decision prioritizes safety, as the day of entry into the recruit training camp will already draw a large crowd of soldiers and their families.
He is becoming the second member of the team to enlist after leader Taeyong. Taeyong, who enlisted on April 15, is currently serving in the Navy.
Discovered as an SM Rookie on December 10, 2013, Jaehyun debuted with NCT U in April 2016. Later he joined NCT 127 and NCT subunit DoJaeJung (Doyoung, Jaehyun. Jungwoo). In August, he released his first solo album, ‘J‘, debuting as a solo artist.
He has also explored acting, making his drama debut in ‘Dear.M’ (2022) as Cha Min Ho. His upcoming film, ‘You Will Die in 6 Hours’, is slated for release on October 16.
