Song Joong Ki is reportedly reviewing his next project, a romantic comedy titled Love Cloud. According to OSEN, Song received the script recently and is positively considering taking on the lead role.
Love Cloud tells the story of Kang Woo Joo, a former flight instructor, and Ahn Ha Ni, a trainee pilot, who meet again seven years later on Jeju Island. Now an air traffic controller, Kang Woo Joo navigates both skies and matters of the heart, as the mystical island turns love itself into weather.
The drama is directed by Song Min Yeop, known for works like Youth of May and High Cookie, and the script was written by the rookie team “Mad Rabbit.” While Song Joong Ki is reviewing the lead role, casting for the female lead and other supporting roles is currently underway.
This would be another acting transformation for Song Joong Ki, who has recently concluded his role as Sunwoo Hae in the JTBC drama My Youth, which ended on October 17, 2025.
In My Youth, he played a former child star turned florist and novelist in a second-chance romance with Chun Woo Hee. While the drama received praise for its warm storytelling, its viewership stayed modest, averaging between 1-2% and never surpassing 2.9% of its premiere.
At 40, Song has already become an iconic Kdrama heartthrob. He is known for many memorable roles in Reborn Rich, Vincenzo, Descendants of the Sun, Hopeless, and A Werewolf Boy.
Since the conclusion of My Youth, Song Joong Ki has been reconnecting with his fans. In October, he held his first fan meeting in Seoul in seven years, titled Stay Happy, and followed it with fan meetings in Tokyo and Osaka in November. At these events, he expressed gratitude to fans and shared that their support gives him strength and promises to return with exciting projects.
