Song Joong Ki and Park Ji Hyun may soon reunite on screen, four years after their mega-hit drama Reborn Rich. Both actors are currently considering roles in the upcoming romantic comedy Love Cloud.
On Monday, January 5, Park’s agency confirmed that the actress has received an offer to star in Love Cloud and is “positively reviewing” it. Song’s agency, HighZium Studio, also stated that the actor is considering the project.
Love Cloud is described as a romantic comedy set against the scenic backdrop of Jeju Island. The story follows a former flight instructor and a trainee pilot who meet again seven years later under new circumstances. Song Joong Ki has reportedly been offered the role of Kang Woo Joo, a former flight instructor who now works as an air traffic controller. Park Ji Hyun is in talks to play Ahn Ha-nee, a passionate airline first officer who falls in love with him at first sight.
The drama will be directed by Song Min Yeop, known for Youth of May and High Cookie, while the script will be written by the rookie writing team Mad Rabbit. Filming is expected to begin sometime in 2026, with plans for a broadcast in the second half of the year. Notably, the network and exact schedule have not yet been decided.
If confirmed, this project would mark Song Joong Ki and Park Ji Hyun’s first collaboration since JTBC’s Reborn Rich, which aired in 2022 and recorded a peak nationwide rating of 26.9 percent.
In October 2025, Song Joong Ki made a return to television with his drama My Youth opposite Chun Woo Hee. The role would also be his first time portraying a character connected to the aviation industry. In 2025, he connected with fans through fan meetings in Korea and Japan while balancing his career with family life as a father of two.
Park Ji Hyun gained popularity through Reborn Rich and the 2024 SBS drama Flex X Cop, where her performance earned her an Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards. Last year, she appeared in the Netflix series You and Everything Else alongside Kim Go Eun, and is set to star in a romantic comedy, Back to Work!, with Seo In Guk.
At this stage, Love Cloud remains under consideration, with final decisions pending from both actors.
