It tells the gripping story of Guk Hee, played by Song Joong Ki, who seeks a fresh start in Bogota, Colombia, after the IMF crisis. However, he soon finds himself entangled with the city’s Korean underworld, led by the powerful Soo Young (Lee Hee Joon) and Byeong Jang Park (Kwon Hae Hyo).
The newly released teaser trailer for “Bogota: City of the Lost” kicks off with the breathtaking, exotic landscapes of Colombia. The trailer then follows Guk Hee and his family as they arrive in Colombia after the IMF crisis and venture into the smuggling trade.
As Guk Hee desperately clings to his last hope, the trailer builds anticipation for the thrilling adventures that lie ahead. Sooyoung, a customs broker, uses bribes to get smuggled goods past customs officers. The many trucks under his control show how powerful he is in the Korean smuggling business.
Park Byeong Jang, the powerful leader of the Korean community in Bogota, urges Gukhee to survive and make it to District 6. Meanwhile, Sooyoung taunts Guk Hee, saying he will never escape District 1.
This foreshadows a challenging journey for Gukhee as he navigates from the bottom to the top. The complex characters hint at a thrilling story of Koreans struggling to survive in a foreign land, entangled in a web of intrigue.
Song Joong Ki’s highly-anticipated film “Bogota: City of the Lost” is set to hit theaters on December 31.
