Song Kang is finally returning to television in 2026 with the new tvN music drama Four Hands (working title). This will be the 31-year-old actor’s first drama since completing his mandatory military service.

On January 26, the production team confirmed the main cast lineup, announcing Song Kang, Lee Jun Young, and Jang Gyuri as the leads. Four Hands is written by Shin Yi Won, known for Green Mothers’ Club, and directed by Park Hyun-seok, who previously worked on Song of the Bandits and Uncontrollably Fond.

The drama is set at an arts high school that trains young musical prodigies. The title Four Hands comes from a piano term that refers to two people playing one piano together.

The story follows three talented young musicians as they grow from their school years into adulthood.

Song Kang plays Kang Bi-O, a piano genius and top student who has never placed second in academics or competitions. His carefully controlled life begins to fall apart when a rival from his past suddenly returns. This is Song’s first project since his military discharge in October 2025. Before enlisting, he starred in popular dramas such as My Demon in 2023 and Sweet Home Season 3 in 2024.

Lee Jun Young takes on the role of Choi Jeong Yo, Kang Bi-o’s rival. He comes from a difficult family background and once turned his back on music after his talent was ignored. He arrives at the arts high school and comes face to face with Bi-o, the piano prodigy who once inspired him.

Lee Jun Young is expected to have a busy year, as he is also set to lead the JTBC fantasy drama New Employee Chairman Kang, where he will play dual roles.

Jang Gyuri plays Hong Jae In, a viola major with a sharp and sensitive ear. She has been close to Kang Bi-o since childhood and has always supported him. Jang is a former member of the girl group fromis_9 and has built her acting career with roles in Cheer Up and When the Phone Rings.

Kim Joo Hun plays Do Hyeon Soo, Yoon Se Ah appears as Kang Ji Hye, and Jung Jin Young takes on the role of Kang Seung Woon, Kang Bi-o’s grandfather.

Four Hands is scheduled to premiere on tvN in the second half of 2026. The 12-episode drama reportedly starts airing in August and will be available for streaming on TVING.
