Song Kang Shares Thoughts on ‘Sweet Home 2’ and ‘My Demon’

Song Kang opened up about his experience of appearing in Sweet Home 2 and My Demon. The Nevertheless actor had the opportunity to connect with viewers not only through the second season of Sweet Home, but also through the drama My Demon. Both of these shows are available on Netflix, making them easily accessible to a wide audience. 

In an interview with Netflix, Song Kang mentioned that he’s been receiving positive feedback from his friends, even those he doesn’t normally keep in touch with. He also mentioned that it’s the first time his work has been released simultaneously, so he’s experiencing a unique and somewhat surreal feeling. 

Song Kang appreciates the opportunity to showcase the contrasting personalities of his characters, Hyunsoo and Guwon, in both dramas. 

The 29-year-old actress mentioned that for his role in My Demon, he wanted to portray a sharp and intense character, so he lost about 10 kg. 

He shot the drama at around 64 to 65 kg, but he mentioned that not eating carbohydrates made it difficult for him to think clearly. So, he decided to eat a moderate amount of carbohydrates to maintain his weight while filming, and he believes it gave him a sharper appearance. 

For Season 2 of Sweet Home, Song Kang filmed at a weight of 74 kg. And now, he’s been able to maintain a weight of around 71-72 kg. 

Both of the dramas that Song Kang starred in, Sweet Home and My Demon, achieved fantastic results by ranking 1st or 2nd on the South Korean Netflix Top 10. 

Regarding the positive response, “I’m really grateful. As I’m sure you all do with all your works, I worked really hard, had a lot of conversations, and was emotionally drained.”

When asked if he checks the audience’s reaction, Song Kang mentioned that he actually doesn’t. He believes that if you start paying too much attention to the audience’s opinions, it can sway you and potentially ruin what you’re doing. That’s why he always believes in himself and stays true to his own instincts.

Lastly, Song Kang revealed he will be enlisting in the military and Sweet Home 2 is his final project about enlistment.
