Things have gotten a little heated after Stray Kids dropped a recent collaboration between American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth and K-pop group Stray Kids.
Basically, some fans are not too happy with Charlie Puth because of his support for Israel. This has led to some backlash from STAYs, who are calling for a boycott of the song and criticizing the artist for his political views.
Fans were pretty upset about the Stray Kids and Charlie Puth collab track, Lose My Breath, right from the start.
They planned to not support the song and hoped that JYP Entertainment would put out a version of Lose My Breath without Charlie Puth.
On May 10, the song was dropped on all music platforms. STAYs have decided to boycott streaming or supporting the collab in any way.
It is because of the involvement of Charlie Puth and Johnny Goldstein, both of whom are known supporters of Israel.
Charlie Puth was the featured artist, lyricist, and composer, while Jonny Goldstein, an Israeli recorder producer, was the composer, arranger, and producer.
Fans supporting the Palestinian cause are boycotting the song due to the duo’s political views.
Moreover, STAYs are calling out JYP Entertainment to collaborate with artists supporting Israel. Currently, #JYPEDivestFromZionism is trending on X, urging the agency to be mindful when selecting collaborators.
Lastly, Stray Kids are rumored to be releasing an album on July 19.
