Stray Kids Renews Contract with JYP Entertainment

Stray Kids

Stray Kids has officially renewed their contract with JYP Entertainment, their management agency since debut.

The news confirms that all eight members – Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, and I.N – will continue to work together under the JYP Entertainment umbrella.

On July 18, JYP Entertainment announced that all members of Stray Kids have successfully renewed their contracts ahead of their expiration early next year.

The agency explained that they have extended their partnership, based on a strong trust and a bold vision for the group’s future success.

Stray Kids debuted in March 2018 with I AM NOT and has released many chart-topping singles and albums so far. The group gained recognition with their works including MAXIDENT (2022), 5-STAR (2023), ROCK-STAR (2023), and more.

They even secured their first Billboard HOT 100 entry with the title track, LALALALA, from the album ROCKSTAR. In addition, their latest single Lose My Breath (ft. Charlie Puth) also secured a spot on HOT 100, becoming the first 4th-gen group to have multiple songs rank on the prestigious chart.

They have a brighter future ahead as their popularity in Korea and overseas is exploding. They have been performing as headliners on major music festivals overseas and garnering praise from international media for their music.

In the world of K-pop, it’s still not very common to extend a contract when there are more than 6 months left. This is because both sides usually negotiate to get a slightly better deal until the very end. The recent contract extension of Stray Kids shows a high level of trust between both parties. Previously, BTS and SEVENTEEN (SVT) renewed their contracts nearly a year before they were set to expire.

On the work front, Stray Kids’ latest album ATE will hit major music platforms on July 19 and embark on world tour, dominATE, next month.
