T.O.P has finally broken his silence on rumors surrounding his potential comeback to BIGBANG.
Previously, the former BIGBANG member addressed his departure in a detailed interview during “Squid Game 2” promotions.
Rumors that T.O.P would rejoin BIGBANG for the first time since his departure nearly two years ago have been circulating. However, his agency has swiftly shut down the speculation, confirming that there are no plans for his return.
On Monday, local media sparked rumors that T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun) might be rejoining BIGBANG. The speculation arose after fans noticed that his stage name was still listed on BIGBANG’s official YouTube channel and his social media account. However, it has been clarified that the stage name was never removed, and its presence doesn’t indicate a return.
Both his current PR agency and former agency YG Entertainment have denied the rumors of his return to BIGBANG. YG Entertainment further clarified that the stage name “T.O.P” has always been listed on BIGBANG’s YouTube channel and no recent updates were made.
A representative of his agency shared, “Regarding BIGBANG, our stance remains unchanged, as previously mentioned in a recent interview.”
In a recent interview for “Squid Game 2”, T.O.P revealed that he has no contact with the BIGBANG members. The 37-year-old rapper further shared, “I’m sorry that my mistake caused a lot of damage to the team and that the members were criticized by it. I announced my intention to leave the team because I didn’t want to cause any more damage to them.”
Following a 2017 drug scandal that led to a 10-month prison sentence and two-year probation, Choi Seung Hyun (T.O.P) officially left BIGBANG in May 2023. He returned to the entertainment industry with his recent role as Thanos, a rapper struggling with addiction, in Netflix’s “Squid Game” season 2.
