On August 8, 2023, LOEWE officially named NCT’s Taeyong as its new global ambassador, making him the first Korean male idol to take on the role. Shortly after the announcement, Elle Korea introduced him as the cover star of its September issue. This marked his first activity as a brand representative with the Spanish luxury brand.

The photoshoot highlighted pieces from LOEWE’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection by creative director Jonathan Anderson. Taeyong appeared in three different looks, ranging from sleek tailoring to bold streetwear-inspired styling.

The editorial and interview also placed focus on his growth as an artist and his personal approach to fashion.

This collaboration came just two months after Taeyong’s solo debut with his first EP Shalala, released in June 2023. His work with LOEWE reflected the same themes of individuality and creativity that were central to his solo promotions.

At the same time, he continued preparing for upcoming NCT activities in the latter half of 2023. Taeyong is effortlessly balancing his role as group leader with his growing presence in the global fashion scene.

NCT 127 has a packed schedule in the coming months with two comebacks and year-end activities. The group will release a studio album in October followed by a special album in December. They celebrated their 7th fan meeting at the Jamsil Stadium last month and will release a documentary, NCT 127: The Lost Boys on August 30, exclusively on Disney+.
