TREASURE has announced an early contract renewal with YG Entertainment. The 10-member K-pop boy band will continue their musical journey with the entertainment agency.
On March 23, TREASURE guested on SBS Power FM’s “Cultwo Show” to promote their newly released mini-album titled “PLEASURE”. Released on March 7, the album contains 4 songs with “Yellow” as the title track.
Since TREASURE is about to go on their overseas tour “SPECIAL MOMENT” next month, TREASURE was asked if there were any differences in their settlement amounts due to exchange rates. They replied, “There are differences. It’s not necessarily a good thing.” Additionally, they revealed that they renewed the contract with YG Entertainment ahead of expiration.
Previously, fans were not happy and sent protest trucks due to a lack of promotions for their comeback album “PLEASURE”. Some fans are happy that they renewed their contract with YG while others are disappointed.
There have been both positive and negative comments from fans, such as
“Looks like TREASURE is in it for a long haul with YG!”
“Because for them, being together is more important than anything”
“Why. I really wanted you guys to leave this sh*t entertainment”
No! Why? They literally do not want you to release new music”
TREASURE, formed through “YG Treasure Box”, debuted with 12 members in August 2020. The group reorganized into a 10-member band after the departure of Mashiho and Bang Yedam.
This August, they will celebrate their 5th debut anniversary and have plans to drop a studio album in the second half of the year. Since their debut in 2020, they have released numerous hit songs such as “BONA BONA”, “DARARI”, “HELLO”, “Move”, “Orange”, and more.
Meanwhile, TREASURE prepares for their first US tour “SPECIAL MOMENT”, which kicks off in April. They will hold shows in April 6: Brooklyn (April 6), WashingtonDC (April 8), Oakland (April 10), and LA (April 13).
