After nearly a decade as TWICE’s main rapper and songwriter, Chaeyoung is finally stepping into her own spotlight. This makes her the fourth TWICE member to debut solo, following in the footsteps of Nayeon, Jihyo, and Tzuyu.
The teaser for her first album and release date were revealed on August 8; however, no title was announced back then. In the teaser clip teased by JYP Entertainment, the 26-year-old K-pop star was seen recording in the studio, collaborating with producers and even with the Japanese pop band Gliiico.
On August 12 at midnight, JYPE shared cover art for her forthcoming album, LIL FANTASY vol.1, on TWICE’s official platform.
Chaeyoung’s debut solo album, LIL FANTASY vol.1, is scheduled for release on September 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM KST (12 AM ET).
In a recent interview with Dazed Korea, she also hinted at working with Japanese pop band Gliiico (Kai, Nico, Kio) and composer Ibuki Sakai.
We have worked together a few times and talked a lot about how we might be able to do something fun together in the future.
Over the years, Chaeyoung has cultivated a unique artistic voice, and fans can not wait to see what side she will show in LIL FANTASY vol.1. She began learning guitar in 2022 and performed her self-written song, My Guitar, during TWICE’s Ready to Be world tour. This track is expected to be included on her debut album.
Inside TWICE, Chaeyoung has shone as both rapper and songwriter. She was the first member to receive songwriting credit and even designed TWICE merchandise and album visuals. She has contributed lyrics to TWICE’s songs such as Celebrate, Sweet Summer Day, Missing U, and more.
Along with Jihyo and Jeongyeon, Chaeyoung participated in the soundtracks of Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters. The song entered the Billboard HOT 100 and continues to climb up along with other songs from the movie.
TWICE is currently on their “THIS IS FOR” world tour, slated to perform in Aichi (August 23-24) and Fukuoka (August 30-31). She will likely juggle promotions for her solo debut alongside group activities.
Meanwhile, Chaeyoung will drop LIL FANTASY vol.1 on September 12 and begin promotions right away.
