The TWICE universe just got even more exciting—Chaeyoung is officially joining the solo lineup!
JYP Entertainment confirmed to Dispatch on June 10 that the rapper-singer is ‘preparing her debut solo album’. This makes her the fourth member (after Nayeon, Jihyo, and Tzuyu) to step into the spotlight alone.
Earlier today, JoyNew exclusively reported that Chaeyoung solo debut is expected for the second half of 2025, most likely in the fall. The exact date to be confirmed after TWICE’s full-group comeback activities and overseas festival schedules are wrapped up in July.
TWICE members are currently pursuing various individual activities, including solo music, acting, units, and variety shows. Aside from the solo artists, Mina, Sana, and Momo are active as a Japanese unit “MISAMO”, and Dahyun is focusing on acting.
It’s a golden era for ONCEs—every month brings fresh TWICE content, but in new flavors. This latest exciting news comes amidst TWICE’s busiest year of individual and group activities. Last year, Nayeon made her first solo comeback with NA and the youngest member Tzuyu’s solo debut with EP abouTZU.
Chaeyoung has always stood out in TWICE as the “artsy rebel”—whether she’s penning lyrics, flaunting her tattoo collection, or serving some bold fashion. So, fans can expect some “unfiltered creativity” from her solo debut.
While Chaeyoung’s solo album is in the works, fans can look forward to TWICE’s comeback next month. The group will release their 4th full album, This Is For, on July 11, 2025. Following that, they will embark on their 6th world tour of the same title, starting with two shows in Incheon on July 19-20.
TWICE will visit major cities all around the world, including Osaka, Tokyo, Sydney, Melbourne, Macao, and more. The complete tour schedule is yet to be announced with stops in Europe, North America, and Latin America. They are also set to headline ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’ on August 2.
Following her overseas schedule, her solo debut is expected to be confirmed. In 2023, she has already released solo tracks, including ‘Love Me More’ and ‘My Guitar’, along with a collaboration with ‘Coco & Clair Clair’ on the single ‘Pop Star’.
