K-pop fans are pointing out a striking similarity between TWS’ latest release, Double Take, and GD&TOP’s 2010 hit, Knock Out.

The accusations of plagiarism are heating up, with many claiming that TWS’ song borrows a little too heavily from the iconic BIGBANG sub-unit’s energetic and addictive beat.

Double Take is part of TWS’ first comeback and second mini album, SUMMER BEAT! The album was dropped on June 24 at 6 PM along with the music video of the title track “If I Were a “S” please be my “N”.

The album featured 5 tracks including Double Take, which faces plagiarism accusations. On July 14, the performance video of Double Take was released, which further fueled the plagiarism claims.

The similarities between TWS’ Double Take and GD&TOP’s Knock Out extend beyond just lyrics. Fans are not dismissing it as a coincidence due to the nearly-identical music video atmosphere, comparable beats, similar intonation, and delivery.

This is not the first time a HYBE label group has been accused of copying other artists’ work. Previously, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, ILLIT, and other groups faced similar allegations.

Lastly, PLEDIS has not yet addressed the claims of TWS’ copying a 2010 song of two renowned K-pop rappers, G-Dragon and TOP from BIGBANG.

TWS shattered records with the number of pre-orders and album sales with their new album, SUMMER BEAT!
