TWS has announced that member Jihoon will be taking a temporary hiatus due to a knee injury.
The 18-year-old K-pop star will sit out upcoming schedules and focus on recovery.
On September 26, PLEDIS Entertainment released an official statement on Weverse, stating, “Recently, TWS member Jihoon has been encountering discomfort in his right knee and has received medical advice to minimize strenuous movements for the time being. As a result, he will not be attending the Keimyung University festival scheduled for tomorrow (September 27, Friday).”
The label added, “We prioritize the health of our artists and plan to operate future schedules flexibly based on the artist’s recovery. We will do our best to ensure Jihoon can meet fans in good health.”
Many HYBE label artists have halted activities over the last few months including TXT’s Beomgyu, ENHYPEN’s Jay, KATSEYE’s Megan, and more. Fans are criticizing the K-pop entertainment agencies for overworking the idols and not giving them enough rest.
On another note, TWS made their first comeback with the album SUMMER BEAT! on June 24.
