MW Entertainment has entered the K-pop industry.
The company was launched today, January 7, by CEO Lee Won Min, a veteran producer often called the ‘Midas hand of K-pop.’He is also the ex-CEO of WM Entertainment and is known for discovering and growing some of K-pop’s most successful groups.
Since founding WM Entertainment in 2008, he has discovered and nurtured artists such as B1A4, Oh My Girl, ONF, Lee Chaeyeon, and USPEER. Many of these acts went on to become representative names in K-pop.
Last August, Lee Won Min announced his separation from RBW, which had become the largest shareholder of WM Entertainment after their merger in April 2021. Following that decision, he moved forward with a new start.
MW Entertainment has been established in the same Mangwon-dong building where he once built WM Entertainment. The six-story building was originally purchased in August 2014 for about 4.33 billion won. With this new launch, Lee is also reuniting with many of his longtime staff members.
One of MW Entertainment’s top priorities is USPEER. The group holds special meaning for Lee Won Min, as it was the first girl group he introduced in nearly ten years since Oh My Girl.
After USPEER’s exclusive contract with WM Entertainment ended on December 31, 2025, Lee held discussions with RBW. These talks went smoothly, and as a result, MW Entertainment received both the group’s exclusive contract and trademark rights.
Full album preparations for USPEER have already begun. The company is aiming for a comeback in the first half of this year. Fans are relieved after hearing the news, especially after recent uncertainty surrounding the group’s future.
Alongside USPEER’s comeback, Lee Won Min is also speeding up preparations for a new boy group. This indicates that MW Entertainment plans to grow as a full-scale agency from the start.
Sharing his thoughts, Lee Won Min said, “Building on the insight, experience, and expertise I have gained over the past 30 years, I will make this a year of a new leap forward. Please look forward to the birth of a new K-pop star who will lead K-pop trends with not only musicality, but also strong skills and character.”
Now, fans are looking forward to USPEER’s comeback announcement and the new K-pop boy group.
