The wait is over, and the stars have aligned!
“When the Stars Gossip”, the new space office drama starring Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin, has blasted off to a good start. The first episode was aired on tvN on January 4, and it seems viewers are going to like this cosmic romance.
Since it is Lee Min Ho’s first Kdrama in 5 years, it is no surprise that the tvN weekend drama topped ratings in its time slot.
The first episode of “When the Stars Gossip” scored impressive ratings, with an average of 3.8% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 3.3% nationwide. It reached peaks of 5% and 4.6% respectively. The drama took the top spot in its time slot across cable and comprehensive channels, according to Nielsen Korea’s data.
The spaceship GO-10 finally reached space orbit in the premiere episode. It carried Gong Ryong (Lee Min Ho) and Eve Kim (Gong Hyo Jin) on a journey that marked the start of their lives outside Earth.
“When the Stars Gossip” follows the journey of Gong Ryong, a talented obstetrician and gynecologist who becomes a space tourist after paying a hefty sum. Before reaching for the stars, his life on earth was not easy.
Orphaned at birth, Gong was raised by his aunts. Despite these challenges, he defied the odds and excelled academically. He scored perfectly on his college entrance exams and became a doctor.
As an obstetrician, Gong Ryong found joy in delivering new life, but his career took a downturn when he treated the CEO of MZ Electronics for an ectopic pregnancy. This move did not sit well with Choi Jae Ryong, the chairman of the MZ Group, and Gong Ryong was fired from the hospital.
Fans have absolutely loved the first episode and are already looking forward to the next one.
