Since Suzy was the only miss A member who didn’t attend Min’s wedding, it stirred up some conversation.
Former miss A member Min tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, a non-celebrity businessman, in a private Seoul wedding on June 7. The ceremony became a mini JYP reunion, with fellow Miss A members Fei and Jia in attendance.
In addition, former labelmates including 2AM, 2PM’s Jang Wooyoung and Ok Taecyeon, Wonder Girls’ Sunye, f(x)’s Amber, Kim Jaejoong, and other K-pop stars attended the ceremony.
However, Suzy’s noticeable absence from the celebration fueled old rumors of bullying and discord within the group. Particularly, it ignited a debate about whether the actress-singer was invited or chose not to attend due to past conflicts.
miss A’s member, Fei, posted a photo with the bride, Min, and Jia, saying, “Congratulations on your marriage, Minyoung! Wishing you happiness forever. I love you.”
Jia, who attended the wedding, also posted on her social media account, “So beautiful! So sexy! So lovely! Beauty! Congratulations on your marriage! It’s great to see you happy! I’m glad I got to meet JYP family members again after a long time! Everyone, be happy!” along with wedding photos.
miss A, known for hits like “Bad Girl Good Girl,” “Hush,” and “Touch,” disbanded in December 2017 after seven years, following their debut in July 2010.
During their time together, there were whispers of tension and bullying among the members. Fans pointed to things like Suzy missing Jia’s birthday in 2015, the members not following each other on social media, and fewer group photos compared to their early days. Also, the “Wonderland” actress often seemed to stand apart from the other three members during performances and interviews.
When she missed Min’s wedding, it brought back the old rumors of “Suzy bullying” that people had talked about before. After Jia left in 2016, Min didn’t stay with JYP in 2017. Then, Fei and Suzy, who had stayed with JYP after the group broke up, also left JYP later on, in 2018 and 2019, and went to different companies.
On the work front, Suzy will star in exciting new Kdramas, Genie, Make a Wish, and Delusion.
