On December 19, he was discharged from military service and returned to civilian life. The WINNER leader began his military service in June 2023 and returned to the spotlight today.

Notably, Kang Seung Yoon is the only WINNER member to be enlisted as an active-duty soldier while his bandmates fulfilled national defense duties as social service workers.

During his military service, Kang earned many awards including Outstanding Trainee Commendation, a prize in a writing competition, and a book review accolade.

He also participated in many charitable endeavors, including aid efforts for flood victims.

Other members Jinu and Hoony completed their military service as public service workers in December 2021 and January 2022 respectively

On December 23, another member of the group Mino will complete his alternative military service. More recently, a Dispatch report revealed that he neglected his military service and received favoritism from his supervisor.

YG Entertainment addressed the allegations stating that he took medical leave according to regulations for the treatment he had been receiving before his enlistment. A police investigation has begun into his alleged military service neglect and manipulation of attendance records.

With Mino completing his military service on December 24, the group is set to prepare for a comeback next year, as confirmed by YG’s Yang Hyun Suk.
