WINNER’s Mino has officially been discharged from his alternative military service on December 23. After fulfilling his civic duty, the 31-year-old rapper is now back to civilian life, but it seems fans will have to wait a little longer to see him back in action.

Song Minho completed his military service as a public service worker despite recent controversy surrounding his alleged poor performance during his duty. Although he completed his service as scheduled, it has been reported that he took sick leave on his final day.

As reported by Star News, Mino has no immediate plans to resume his entertainment career. Instead, he and his agency, YG Entertainment, will be taking a wait-and-see approach. They are waiting for the outcome of the Military Manpower Administration’s investigation into the allegations surrounding his military service.

He suffers from psychological anxiety symptoms and reportedly submitted a sick leave request. It was also reported that he was hospitalized after allegations of poor military service surfaced on December 17.

According to regulations, social service agents like Mino are allowed up to 30 days of sick leave during their service period. If this limit is exceeded, the service agency must report it to the authorities, providing supporting documents. Failure to comply may result in a warning or extended service. However, a person managing his attendance confirmed to Star News that he did not exceed the allotted 30-day sick leave period.

The WINNER member has been undergoing treatment for mental health conditions, including panic disorder and bipolar disorder. A source close to him previously revealed that his condition was severe. Despite being deemed unfit for alternative service around March or April, Mino was determined to complete his service period.

On December 17, Dispatch raised allegations of poor work performance and falsified attendance records. YG Entertainment denied the allegations stating that his sick leave was for treatment of pre-existing conditions. An investigation by the Military Manpower Administration is ongoing.

Mino has no immediate plans for entertainment activities and will respond to the allegations after the investigation results are released.

The Military Manpower Administration is reviewing CCTV footage from Mino’s workplace to verify his attendance records. If any irregularities are found, he may face punishment.

In related news, WINNER member Kang Seung Yoon was discharged from active duty on December 19.
