WM Entertainment, the powerhouse behind Oh My Girl, is launching a brand-new girl group, their first in a decade.
On March 24, WM Entertainment officially launched the social media account for their new girl group, USPEER. They revealed the group’s logo motion, featuring a speech bubble design. Fans are curious about the message and concept USPEER will bring to the table. The group is reported to have 6-7 members between the ages of 18 and 19. They were previously scheduled to debut in mid-2024; however, their debut was postponed to the first half of 2025.
If rumors are true, the possible USPEER members worked as backup dancers for Oh My Girl in 2023. While it has yet to be confirmed by the agency, USPEER members include Kim Yeowon, Kim Jihoo, Cho Heesoo, Lee Siyeon, Park Sunwoo, and Kim Gayeon.
Regarding USPEER debut, WM Entertainment announced, “We will be launching our new girl group, USPEER, in the first half of this year. We are delighted to unveil this new team after a long period of preparation. We will be approaching global K-Pop fans with USPEER’s unique music and performances, which were born from our accumulated expertise. We ask for your continued interest.”
The Entertainment agency is known for launching successful groups like B1A4, Oh My Girl, and ONF. They are now unveiling a brand-new girl group 10 years after the launch of Oh My Girl.
Oh My Girl was formed in 2015 with 8 members, however, two members JinE and Jiho left the team. They debuted in April 2015 with a self-titled album and went on to release many hits. They enjoy huge popularity in Korea for their unique musical style. The group will celebrate their 10th debut anniversary this year.
While Oh My Girl is not as active as a group as in their early years, all eyes are now on USPEER if they can replicate their success.
Meanwhile, with their debut slated for the first half of this year, USPEER plans to roll out exclusive content through their official social media channels in the coming weeks.
