Two months after his DUI controversy, BTS’ SUGA (Min Yoongi) faces renewed scrutiny and calls for removal from the group.

Stephen Colbert’s recent joke about the “Haegeum” rapper’s drunk driving an e-scooter and South Korea’s reaction to it has reignited attention to the incident.

After the controversy was addressed on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” some anti-fans planned to demand his withdrawal once again by sending wreaths to HYBE headquarters.

On Sunday, October 20, wreaths arrived at the HYBE headquarters, demanding his removal from the BTS. On the other hand, international ARMYs also showed support for SUGA with a food truck project.

They planned fun activities, a purple ribbon project and to give free snacks and drinks. In addition, ARMYs, who can not be at the event in person, are showing love and support through several tags on X. Currently, various tags like #BTSisSeven, #WeLoveYouYoongi, #YoongiNeverWalksAlone, and #ARMYLoves7 are trending on social media platforms.

SUGA was involved in an electric scooter incident in Yongsan-gu at 11:10 PM. Police testing revealed a 0.227% blood alcohol level. The 31-year-old rapper had reportedly dined and drunk alcohol with friends before riding his scooter.

He appeared at the police station for questioning and later his case was sent to prosecution. SUGA had his license revoked and was fined 15 million won for the DUI offense.

In August, SUGA faced intense scrutiny and backlash from the media and fans for his actions. Back then, Korean fans demanded his removal and protested by sending trucks and wreaths to HYBE HQ.
