Amid the intensifying conflict with his agency, former FANTASY BOYS member Yoo Junwon’s upcoming fan meeting in Japan has been canceled, as announced on the official website on June 7.
The event was initially slated to take place across two venues, KT ZEPP Yokohama on July 5 and Zepp Namba on July 7, with two shows scheduled at each location.
However, plans have been scrapped and the fanmeeting will no longer proceed.
Phunky Studio, the production company behind MBC’s Boys’ Fantasy – After School Excitement is taking legal action against the 21-year-old idol for allegedly violating his contract by secretly planning a Japanese fan meeting.
This move comes after his attempt to suspend his exclusive contract with Phunky Studio was denied in court.
Furthermore, the agency shared that they’ll be filing a petition with the Korea Entertainment Producers Association and Korea Entertainment Management Association.
After winning the MBC’s audition program, he was scheduled to debut as a member of FANTASY BOYS. Prior to the group’s debut, conflicts arose due to a disagreement over profit sharing and Yoo Junwon’s unapproved departure from the team.
He attempted to legally suspend his exclusive contract with Phunky Studio. The court ruled in favor of the agency, denying his request for a temporary injunction.
Lastly, the legal proceedings between Yoo Junwon and Phunky Studio are moving forward, with a court hearing scheduled for June 27. The production company is seeking 3 billion won in damages from the artist.
