Fans of the beloved romantic comedy series can finally celebrate as Studio Dragon officially confirmed production for “Yumi’s Cells” Season 3. This long-awaited announcement comes three years after Season 2 premiered. Now, viewers are excited for the next chapter in the life of ordinary office worker Kim Yumi, played by the talented Kim Go Eun.
The upcoming season will continue adapting the popular webtoon by Lee Dong Gun, focusing on Yumi’s blossoming career as a writer.
On May 13, TVING confirmed that “Yumi’s Cells” season 3 is happening with Kim Go Eun reprising the lead role.
The third season of the popular TVING original series “Yumi’s Cells” will present a fresh romance storyline. Kim Go Eun reprises her role as Yumi, now a successful star writer, but her cells are still stuck in their old ways. As she navigates an unpredictable new romance, her Cell Village goes into overdrive, sparking all sorts of reactions and emotions.
Kim Go Eun’s performance as Yumi is so iconic that it is hard to imagine anyone else in the role. She brought depth and nuance to the character that was just captivating. The actress was also recognized with the Best Actress award for her performance in season 1 at the Blue Dragon Awards.
Kim Go Eun expressed her gratitude and excitement, saying, “It’s an honor and a pleasure to continue Yumi’s story, which has been loved by many viewers. Now, after a three-year wait, Season 3 is finally in the works, and fans are super excited to see what’s next for Yumi. Male leads for Season 1 and 2 were Ahn Bo Hyun and GOT7’s Jinyoung. There is no official confirmation on who will play Kim Go Eun’s love interest in Season 3.
