Song Yuqi of i-dle (formerly known as (G)I-DLE) has started 2026 with exciting news. The Chinese K-pop star has been officially named the newest brand ambassador for the global beauty brand Fenty Beauty.
The brand, founded by pop star Rihanna, shared the announcement on January 5, 2026. Along with the news, Fenty Beauty released a special pictorial and campaign video showing Yuqi wearing and modeling selected products from the brand.
Yuqi is widely known as a global star, and her new role fits her image well. She speaks Korean, Mandarin, and English fluently and has built a huge fanbase through music, variety shows, and hosting work. She was previously praised for her “brave[ness] in expressing her true self,” which helped her secure a partnership with Ray-Ban in Greater China. These qualities match Fenty Beauty’s message of inclusivity and self-expression.
The Fenty Beauty ambassadorship is the latest addition to her list of brand partnerships. In 2024, Yuqi was selected as a Fendi Ambassador after a long relationship with the luxury brand. The 26-year-old idol has been attending its events regularly since 2021.
Over the years, she has also worked with several other brands. These include cosmetic brand Vivlas and various Chinese brands in fashion, jewelry, and beverages.
On the work front, Yuqi made her official Korean solo debut with the EP Yuq1 in April 2024. She continued her solo journey by releasing her first single album Motivation in September 2025.
i-dle also had a major year in 2025. After rebranding in May, the group released their eighth mini-album We Are. The album received praise from critics and entered the Billboard K-Pop Artist 100 chart. The group also found success with their first Japanese EP.
Throughout the year, all five members—Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua—focused on solo music, acting, and MC activities.
According to multiple industry reports, i-dle is currently preparing for a group comeback scheduled for January 2026. This will be their first group release since May 2025. Fans are already looking forward to seeing the new concept the group will present.
Following the comeback, they are set to begin their fourth world tour, titled Syncopation. The tour is scheduled to start in February 2026 with a major concert at the KSPO Dome in Seoul. After that, the group will perform across Asia and Oceania.
