ZEROBASEONE’s Zhang Hao has revealed a fun and unexpected dream: opening a hotpot restaurant with i-dle’s Yuqi.
His comments came during his guest appearance on Netflix’s daily travel variety show Getaway and Go with Jangdobari, where he joined host Jang Do Yeon on a trip to Yeongam, South Jeolla Province. Currently, ZEROBASEONE members are promoting their new release, Never Say Never, with appearances on various variety shows.
While sharing stories during the episode, Zhang Hao seems to have been seriously thinking about his future outside of his career as a celebrity. “I’m thinking of switching to another visa so I can start a business in Korea,” he said. When asked what kind of business he had in mind, he replied without hesitation, “Hotpot!”
He then explained that he had recently spoken with Yuqi about the idea. “Yesterday, I talked with Yuqi noona, and she said, ‘I have always wanted to open a hot pot place, want me to make a PPT and send it over?’” Zhang Hao shared the conversation.
He even pointed out how profitable the idea could be: “As you know, Haidilao, but they don’t have a shop in Sangnam yet. Broadcasting stations are there; it would be a huge success.”
The idol then turned to Jang Do Yeon with a playful request. “Noona, will you invest in me? I will send you my PPT.” Jang Do Yeon asked if she would need to pay a lot of money, and the 25-year-old idol answered honestly but cheekily: “Yes.”
Chinese K-pop idols Zhang Hao and Yuqi share a close bond and once revealed on a variety show that all Chinese K-pop stars have a group chat led by Yuqi. Amusingly, the chat is named “Hot Pot.”
Just last month, the duo left fans swooning with their sizzling special stage at KCON LA 2025.
On the work front, Zhang Hao’s group, ZEROBASEONE, gears up for the concert tour, Here & Now, after the album release. In addition, negotiations are underway for the contract renewal of members; if it fails, ZB1 will disband in early January next year.
Yuqi’s group, i-dle (previously (G)I-DLE), underwent a major rebrand on their 7th debut anniversary in May. In the coming months, they will make a comeback and embark on a massive world tour.
