“D Awards with UPICK” is the latest addition to the K-pop award show scene.
The first-ever ceremony, presented by Sports DongA, will be held on February 22 at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium. Interestingly, the biggest names in K-pop are set to perform at the inaugural ceremony.
On January 6, Sports Donga announced 1st lineup of performers for the 2025 D Awards, which include
- ENHYPEN
- FIFTY FIFTY
- UNIS
- TWS
- QWER
So far, 5 top-tier K-pop acts have confirmed their participation, and more groups and soloists will join soon.
The 1st D Awards with UPICK will honor outstanding artists in two main categories:
- ‘D Awards Delights’ – recognizing top artists of the past year
- ‘D Awards Dreamers’ – shining the spotlight on rising stars
Additional awards include:
- Artist of the Year
- Album of the Year
- Song of the Year
- Performance of the Year
- Globalist of the Year
- Iconic Awards – recognizing the contribution of artists and production crews
Another exciting part is that fans will get to decide the winner of the ‘Fanpick’ award through voting on the UPICK app!
Nominees will be announced in early January, along with the lineup of artists and presenters.
Notably, All awards, except ‘Fanpick’, will be determined by a combination of online votes, streaming, downloads, physical sales, judging, and social media votes.
Lastly, the 1st D Awards will take place on February 22 at 6 PM KST at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seoul. The event is hosted by Sports Donga and organized by UPICK and WSM.
