Jennie, a member of the girl group BLACKPINK, has sparked controversy after being caught smoking indoors in Italy.
Following reports and footage surfacing online, the K-pop superstar’s personal agency, ODD ATELIER, has issued a formal apology for her actions, acknowledging that her behavior was inappropriate.
On July 9, ODD ATELIER released an official statement, stating, “We’d like to sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable with Jennie’s action in the content released on July 2.”
They shared that the You & Me singer is reflecting on her actions, saying, “Jennie is also reflecting on smoking indoors and causing harm to staff, and has also directly contacted the staff members present at the time to apologize.”
The agency promised to be more careful in the future and apologized to fans who felt disappointed.
Following the smoking controversy, she was reported to the South Korean embassy for violating the regulations of smoking indoors.
On the work front, she’s set up her own one-person agency, ODD ATELIER, and will be releasing a new album soon under her own label.
