Their disbandment was first announced in June when Fantagio revealed that the group would bid farewell to fans with their last single, CoinciDestiny, dropped on June 12.

Fans were overjoyed when Weki Meki finally made their comeback after three years, but their excitement was abruptly cut short by the devastating news of their disbandment.

On August 16, Fantagio officially announced their disbandment through the fan cafe, stating, “After a long period of serious discussion with our company, Weki Meki decided to officially end group activities on August 8.”

The agency revealed that Weki Meki members Ji Sooyeon, Choi Yoo Jung, and Kim Doyeon are currently in talks to renew their contracts, while Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy have opted not to extend their exclusive contracts with the agency after thorough discussions.

The agency expressed their gratitude to departing members Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy for their outstanding performances as part of Weki Meki.

Additionally, the agency and Weki Meki members jointly expressed their heartfelt thanks to fans for their unwavering love and support.

Weki Meki, who debuted in 2017, has brought their seven-year journey to a close. The group bid a final farewell to their fans after releasing their last single, CoinciDestiny, in June.
