More and more K-pop idols and retailers are coming forward to show their support for Seunghan after he departed from RIIZE.
K-pop fandoms are united against bullying after OT6 fans sent funeral wreaths as a threat to demand his withdrawal after SM Entertainment announced his return.
Succumbing to their demands, the label announced his departure from the group 2 days after announcing his return.
This has led to massive backlash from the international RIIZE fan community and K-pop fans worldwide. After Super Junior’s Leeteuk, former DAY6 member eaJ has condemned the actions of OT6 fans who bullied Seunghan and gave death threats by sending funeral wreaths.
eaJ took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his frustration, saying, “The funeral wreaths were disgusting. The same people who sent them will be the first ones online mourning the tragic outcome they fought for.”
He added, “God forbid tragedy occurs but I have been on that side before and it was close, I can not imagine the trauma it would cause someone that young.”
He requested legal action against fans who sent wreaths, saying, “Anyone involved in the flowers should be tried for attempted murder because that’s what it was.”
Besides fan protests, many K-pop stores have boycotted RIIZE and decided not to restock to sell RIIZE products until the situation is resolved. SubK Shop, Seoul Stop, Poppe Shop, Aling Chulien, N.Cat Philippines, Chingudachi, and many other K-pop stores have suspended the sales of RIIZE merch and albums.
Not to mention, RIIZE has lost nearly 300K followers on all social media platforms after Seunghan’s departure. They are boycotting the group and protesting for his return by sending protest trucks.
After announcing his departure, SM Entertainment has officially listed RIIZE as a six-member group (Wonbin, Sohee, Eunseok, Shotaro, Sungchan, and Anton).
