2024 has become the year of reunions for K-pop fans worldwide!
After months and years of anticipation, some of the most iconic and influential groups in K-pop history reunited this year. BTS, BLACKPINK, 2NE1, EXO, SNSD, Wonder Girls, SHINee, After School, and Gfriend, to name a few.
As 2024 nears its end, let’s have a look at all the K-pop groups reunited so far
BTS
It is only right to begin with one of the biggest and most popular K-pop groups of all time, BTS. The group gave ARMYs a thrilling surprise and made their hearts race by reuniting at member Jin’s discharge ceremony on June 12.
All members sans Suga arrived at the military base to welcome Jin and celebrate his discharge. On the same day, they went to HYBE headquarters and shared the highly-anticipated OT7 photo.
The last time BTS members reunited was in December 2022, when Jin enlisted in the military. ARMYs were excited to finally witness their reunion and they were hoping for them to reunite again at J-Hope’s discharge. However, J-Hope was only welcomed by fellow member Jin.
Now, fans are looking forward to their reunion in June 2025 when all BTS members complete military service.
BLACKPINK
BLACKPINK also reunited after months of suspending group activities. This year, they will focus on solo endeavors and resume group activities next year.
BLINKs were treated to a delightful surprise with back-to-back appearances in August.

On August 8, BLACKPINK members met 88 lucky fans with an intimate fansign event. The next day, they gathered at the screening of their concert movie “Born Pink in Cinemas.” During these days, they went live on Weverse twice to interact with BLINKs.
As revealed by YG Entertainment in late September, they will make a comeback in 2025 and go on a world tour.
BIGBANG
One of the most awaited reunions was most certainly BIGBANG. After 7 long years, BIGBANG members (G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung) gathered on stage for an electrifying performance.
They surprised VIPs (fandom name) by giving an impromptu performance at Taeyang’s solo concert on September 1. That’s not all, fans have a lot in store as BIGBANG leader G-Dragon himself has personally confirmed that the group will continue.
This year, they celebrated their 18th debut anniversary, the group has seen their fair share of trials and tribulations and undergone major lineup shake-ups. With Seungri and T.O.P removed from the group due to a series of controversies, BIGBANG will continue as a trio.
It is expected that they might take the stage at the 2024 MAMA Awards as a group. G-Dragon was previously announced as a performer for the MAMA Awards 2024.
Girls’ Generation
Another legendary K-pop group that reunited this year was Girls’ Generation. Also known as SNSD, the group celebrated their 17th debut anniversary with an intimate get-together. They made fans nostalgic with group photos shared on Instagram.

They announced a winter comeback as well as a world tour and a new album release once Sehun and Kai complete military service. However, their winter comeback is likely postponed due to a contract dispute between SM Entertainment and EXO-CBX (Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin).
SHINee
It was an exciting year for Shawols (fandom name) as SHINee reunited for a 16th debut anniversary concert as a complete 4-member group.
Notably, Onew resumed group activities after around a year-long hiatus due to health reasons. With Onew’s return, members reunited for the ‘SHINee World VI [Perfect Illumination]‘ concert in May.

While PLEDIS never officially announced their disbandment, member Lizzy confirmed that they disbanded. Even after being inactive for about a decade, they reunite occasionally to celebrate special days.
Super Junior
Super Junior, a veteran 2nd-gen K-pop group, had one of the most memorable reunions in May. All former and current Super Junior members reunited to celebrate Ryeowook’s wedding to Tahiti member Ari.
Besides current members (Leeteuk, Yesung, Heechul, Siwon, Eunhyuk, Sungmin, Kyuhyun, Donghae, Shindong), former and inactive members Henry, Zhoumi, Kibum, Kangin, and Hangeng, also joined the celebrations.
It is the first time all 15 Super Junior members were reunited since 2009.
