BLACKPINK’s Rosé has made a bold entrepreneurial move, founding Dream Apt Publishing LLC, a music publishing company.
On October 28, official documents revealed that the 27-year-old K-pop idol had registered a Dream Apt Publishing LLC in Nevada.
Notably, she registered the company under her real name, Chaeyoung Park.
After the official documents surfaced, Dream Apt Publishing LLC, a Nevada-based registered music publishing company, is garnering attention for managing publishing rights for notable releases, including Rosé’s and Bruno Mars’ collaborative single “APT.”
Although specific operational details about her company remain under wraps, it will likely oversee music rights management, distribution, and licensing.
Rosé is registered as manager for the company, with an office located in Times Square, New York.
Music publishing companies help songwriters and composers protect their music rights and get paid for their work. They also negotiate licensing agreements for the usage of songs in recordings, live shows, movies, TV, and commercials.
It is not common for artists to establish publishing companies to manage their masters and music. Renowned artists like Harry Styles have also registered a publishing company Erskine Records Ltd.
In other news, Rosé achieved phenomenal success with the single “APT.” with Bruno Mars. She is set to make a solo comeback on December 6 with her debut album “rosie.”
