BLACKPINK’s Rosé is sharing her stories of heartbreak in her debut studio album!
The 27-year-old singer has opened up about her experiences with tumultuous relationships, hate comments, and the challenges she faced over the past 3-4 years in full album “rosie.”
The album contains 10+ tracks including “number one girl”, “Drinks Or Coffee”, “Dance All Night,” “Two Years,” “3AM,” “toxic ‘till the end,” “Game Boy”, “APT.”, “too bad for us,” “A Little Longer,” “Call It The End,” and “Not The Same.” Of the 13 tracks, “APT.” with Bruno Mars was released last month and “number one girl” is set to drop this Friday (November 22).
Particularly, Rosé’s “toxic ‘till the end” offers a deeply personal look at her journey through heartache.
In an interview with Apple Music, she talked about her past relationship and how she put her painful experience into the song.
Rosé shared that the title of the song was originally “The Ex” and she decided to write a song talking about “a bit too much.” However, they later changed the title of the song to “toxic ‘till the end.”
When asked if it was challenging writing about her heartache, the “APT.” singer expressed, “I think, that was, like, something that was living with me for a few years. I personally don’t think I deserved it but it was just there.”
She added, “I’m shocked that I can wake up now and be like ‘I don’t talk about that anymore’ I’m grateful that I got to do this album, I used to talk about it so much. So, when you ask if it was hard, it was easy for me to talk about because it was something I was talking about all the time.”
“I’d hate it and I’d never like the person to know about it but I would talk about it so much. Do not want to give credit to the person, I talk about it and it was the easiest thing cause I needed to get it off my chest”, Rosé said.
Apple Music released a preview of her interview with Zane; the full episode will be out on December 4.
She is currently promoting and recording content and interviews in Korea for her album “rosie.” Fans can listen to all the soulful songs from “rosie” on December 6 and the pre-release song “number one girl,” will be available to stream on November 22.
