On November 29, the label announced, “The exclusive contract with fromis_9 (Lee Saerom, Song Hayoung, Park Jiwon, Roh Jisun, Lee Seoyeon, Lee Chaeyoung, Lee Nagyung, and Baek Jiheon) will expire on December 31st.”

The agency concluded, “Furthermore, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the fromis_9 members who have tirelessly given their best over the past 7 years and showcased a wide range of diverse charms. We sincerely wish to extend our support and cheers to the members as they embark on their future endeavors.”
The relationship between PLEDIS Entertainment and fromis_9 had been strained for some time. One of the group members had publicly expressed frustration over the lack of opportunities and comebacks compared to other HYBE groups. Following the backlash, PLEDIS announced the group’s scheduled activities and a comeback in August.
Now, all eyes are on the group’s next move, sparking speculation about whether they will continue as a group or pursue solo activities.
