NJZ (formerly NewJeans) is continuing their activities under the new stage name. Despite ADOR emphasizing the use of NewJeans and their official social media accounts, they are working independently and communicating with fans through separate accounts.
NewJeans opened new official social media accounts on February 27. The group announced on Instagram that they are now on X, YouTube, and TikTok under the username NJZ. To celebrate, they shared a cute photo of custom cookies shaped like animals, featuring their initials.
Previously, they opened an Instagram account “jeanzforfree” in December 2024, a couple of weeks after announcing contract termination with ADOR. At the time, ADOR encouraged NewJeans to actively use their new official social media accounts.
In response to the opening of social media accounts, ADOR revealed their official position to Star News on February 28. The label stated “We maintain that the exclusive contract is valid, and we are awaiting a legal judgment on this matter. Additionally, NewJeans has official social media accounts, YouTube, and TikTok for communicating with fans, and all other accounts were created without prior consultation as per the exclusive contract.”
Meanwhile, NewJeans parted ways with ADOR on November 29 and has been engaging in independent activities since. In response, the label has filed lawsuits to confirm the validity of their contract and prevent the members from signing advertising contracts independently. Court hearings have been scheduled for both lawsuits in the coming months.
They will make their first appearance as NJZ at ComplexCon Hong Kong, happening from March 21-23.
