BLACKPINK’s Rosé took the stage as a surprise guest during Coldplay’s concert in Seoul, South Korea. The global K-pop star delivered a show-stopping duet of her smash hit “APT.” with frontman Chris Martin.
The British rock band is scheduled to perform for six unforgettable nights as part of the world tour “Music of the Spheres” from April 16 to 25. They have already delivered electrifying shows on April 16, 18, 19, and 22 at Goyang Stadium. Their final two shows will be held on April 24 and 25 at the same venue.
The tour’s Korean leg reached its peak on April 22, when Rosé made a surprise appearance, joining Chris Martin for a duet. The anticipation was building when videos of the 28-year-old K-pop star went viral while rehearsing “APT.” during soundcheck.
Dressed in a casual outfit, she grabbed attention not just for her striking locks and vocals, as well. Chris Martin sang Bruno Mars’ verses, and the crowd loved every bit of it.
“Korea’s national anthem”, one fan wrote. After the song ended, Chris requested Rosé to perform again, giving fans the treat of seeing her perform twice.
The “Toxic Till The End” singer is a fan of Coldplay’s music, and she sang a rendition of “Viva La Vida” for Apple+’s acclaimed Korean series “Pachinko” season 2.
She released her first full album “rosie” last December and is currently working on new music. Rosé was spotted filming in Las Vegas, with all the signs pointing to a music video shoot.
Meanwhile, Coldplay has invited many Korean artists as special guests, including TWICE and BTS Jin. The band also released a Korean version of their song “We Pray” featuring TWICE on April 18. BTS Jin, who has collaborated with Chris Martin on a solo song “Astronaut” and the BTS song “My Universe”, joined Coldplay on April 19.
During the concert, Jin shared, “Before going to the military, my last stage was the Coldplay stage, now my 1st concert after discharge is also Coldplay’s Concert.” Chris Martin responded, “It’s all because of you that we have this relationship with BTS.”
Now, fans are looking forward to seeing who will be guesting on the show for the remaining shows (April 24, 25).
