In a powerful and personal Instagram post, JUST B member Bain publicly came out as gay. He shared a message of pride, self-acceptance, and love for the LGBTQ+ community.
The K-pop idol made a groundbreaking move in an industry where openly discussing queer identity is still uncommon. Things are changing now as more and more K-pop stars are talking about their sexuality. More recently, the Indian-American member of KATSEYE, Lara, came out as bi.
On April 23, he shared a video on his personal Instagram, where he revealed his sexuality. Bain shared,
“I want to share something real with you.
I’m proud to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community – as a gay person.
And my queen Lady Gaga showed me that being different is beautiful.
To anyone out there who’s part of the LGBTQ+ community, or still figuring it out — this is for you.
You are seen, you are loved, and you were born this way.”
Bain, April 24, 2025
In his post, Bain paid tribute to Lady Gaga, an openly bisexual artist and longtime LGBTQ+ advocate, for helping him embrace his identity. The 23-year-old idol also addressed fans who may be struggling with identity.
The post went viral, with fans and LGBTQ+ advocates praising the K-pop idol for speaking openly about his sexuality. It is notable given the genre’s historically conservative background.
The post has gained over 10K likes in less than 3 hours, and most of the comments are positive. “You are an inspiration to so many people and you are seen and loved beyond words”, commented one fan. Other comments include “So proud of you”, “Please continue to be your true self, we have your back”, “You are amazing and you found yourself in this world”, and more.
As of now, neither JUST B’s agency (Bluedot Entertainment) nor Bain’s fellow members have publicly responded to the post. However, the lack of immediate backlash is being seen as a positive sign.
Meanwhile, Bain debuted with the six-member boy band JUST B with the EP “Just Burn” in June 2021. Last month, they released a digital single “Just Odd”. They recently concluded the US leg of the 2025 world tour “Just Odd” with a final show in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 22.
