On June 14, 2025, aespa’s Karina (Yoo Jimin) took a break from her busy schedule to attend a deeply personal event—her older sister’s wedding. The intimate ceremony was held at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bundang, attended by close friends and family.
Karina, as the bride’s sister, became the center of attention for many guests. For most attendees, it was a complete surprise as her sister had not revealed that she was related to the aespa leader.
Everyone was in awe of her beauty and later took to social media to praise her kind demeanor and striking visuals. None of her bandmates, Winter, Ningning, and Giselle, attended the wedding, which came as a surprise to many.
On June 15, she took to the fan messaging platform, Bubble, to reveal the reason why aespa members were not present at the wedding.
It was held at a church, and there were many people who didn’t know that I was her sister, so I wanted to attend quietly and told the members that I’d just accept their well wishes. They wanted to come with me, so I was thankful.
aespa members are quite close and always support each other, so it was kinda surprising they weren’t at the wedding. MYs were probably expecting to see them there, given how close they are.
Karina wore a skirt-layered jacket from a Seoul-based brand YCH. She paired the look with expensive jewelry from Chaumet, including Joséphine Aigrette earrings (1.86 million won) and Joséphine Aigrette pendant (6.99 million won). Her natural makeup and soft, voluminous waves highlighted her delicate features.
The 25-year-old K-pop star has often spoken fondly of her sister, a nurse whom she describes as “the kindest person I’ve ever met.” During her trainee days, her sister would care for her, even providing bandages when needed. Karina humorously admitted to teasing her sister as a child, joking that her playful bullying might have inspired her to become a nurse.
Despite their closeness, her sister prefers to keep their relationship private. In a past interview, Karina revealed that her sister “stresses out” over public attention, even asking her not to mention her in interviews after Karina once called her “prettier than me” on TV. No photos of the bride or family were shared online to respect the couple’s privacy.
