As Baby DONT Cry is about to debut, their agency, P NATION and producer i-dle’s Soyeon are receiving massive backlash for sexual innuendos in the ‘F Girl’ teaser.

P NATION has released an official statement addressing the backlash surrounding the teaser for the group’s debut title track, ‘F Girl’.

The backlash centers around the fact that three out of four Baby DONT Cry members in the group are minors, yet the teaser appears to include imagery and themes that many are interpreting as sexualized.

The concern among fans and the public is that the suggestive elements—such as the ponytail symbolism and what appeared to be condom wrapper imagery—feel deliberate, not accidental. Many feel it was a clear creative choice, which makes it even more uncomfortable considering the ages of the members.

P NATION apologized to the fans and went on to explain the intention behind ‘F Girl’.

‘F Girl’ contains the message of embracing one’s authentic self and moving beyond externally imposed standards, such as A-F letter grades or labels.

They further clarified that the controversial imagery in the teaser was meant to express youthful rebellion rather than anything suggestive.

“The opening scene of ‘F Girl’ teaser 1 was intended to convey a playful and rebellious tone through imagery such as chewing gum and holding a lollipop. We express with the utmost clarity that there was never any intent to sexualize this scene. Furthermore, we affirm that the full music video contains no provocative or sexualized content of any kind.”

The agency said they are taking the feedback seriously and have decided to remove the controversial scene from the ‘F Girl’ music video,

They also addressed the use of the cherry as a recurring symbol for the group.

“We would also like to address the use of the cherry as a symbol for Baby DONT Cry. The cherry was chosen to embody vibrancy, boldness, and youthful energy—qualities that reflect the group’s identity. As it is widely embraced as a positive and lively symbol across global brands and creative content, we approached its use with the same intention. At no point did we consider or reference any interpretations beyond this positive spirit.”

Meanwhile, i-dle (formerly (G)-IDLE) leader Soyeon is overseeing the music and creative direction of the new girl group Baby DONT Cry from PSY’s agency. The four-member group, consisting of Kumi, Yihyun, Mia, and Beni, will debut with a single album ‘F Girl’ on June 23, 2025.
