Megan Skiendiel and Lara Raj of KATSEYE have both spoken publicly about being part of the LGBTQ+ community. Megan came out as bisexual during a live Weverse broadcast held on June 6, 2025, while Lara had previously shared that she is queer back in March 2025.
On September 21 (KST), KATSEYE attended the Teen Vogue Summit in LA along with many influential figures such as Tanner Adell, Hannah Bahng (Sister of Stray Kids Bang Chan), Gian Caro, Tess Holliday, and more.
During the interview with Versha Sharma, KATSEYE members talked about their journey, aspirations beyond music, hobbies, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and more. The highlight of the event was when Lara and Megan talked about their sexuality and the response they received after coming out as bi.
Megan shared her experience first, saying,
The response has been so heartwarming and welcoming. I just felt so loved the second that I decided to come out as bisexual. I literally can not be more grateful for the response we have both gotten from everyone, from the icons, from the internet. I was definitely scared…in the industry, you don’t really see it as often.

On the other hand, Lara shared,
I felt like it was important to share that part of myself and you as well. I think, like, there is not enough representation, especially in the space that we are in, especially being brown, like everything adding on to it. I wanted to, kind of needed to, share it at some point. Being queer, liking women has always been a very, very big part of my identity. Something that I have been very proud of, and very sure of my whole life. So I feel like it was kind of necessary to share that, and help people, and so many of you guys have told both of us that since you have been able to come out to your families and come out in general, that just warms my heart.

During the June livestream, Megan expressed nervousness before announcing, “Guys, I’m coming out, I’m bisexual,” a moment supported enthusiastically by Lara. The Indian-American singer urged viewers to “say we love bisexuals,” and the two celebrated the moment together.
Lara Raj has described her queer identity using the phrase “half fruitcake,” revealing that she knew she had to come out from a young age. She discussed her fears that being open about her sexuality could affect her chances during the competition show The Debut: Dream Academy, but noted that fan and peer support helped her feel more confident.
Megan has shared similar reflections. In interviews with Teen Vogue, she talked about her ongoing journey of self-exploration—experimenting with style, hair, and makeup—and how having anxiety sometimes made her worry about how people would perceive her.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE prepares for a busy season ahead with a North American tour kicking off in November. They will perform at Coachella next year, along with stars like Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, BIGBANG, Taemin, and more.
