Mnet’s Boys II Planet wrapped up its season on September 25, 2025, concluding an 11-week competition that began with 160 contestants. The survival program drew significant global attention and received approximately 26.6 million votes from fans in 223 countries.
The finale revealed the formation of a new eight-member boy group, Alpha Drive One (ALD1), chosen from the 16 finalists who advanced to the last round.
Boys II Planet was broadcast in 251 countries and regions through Mnet Plus and other global platforms. Weekly viewership steadily increased and the show ranked at the top of the K-pop category on Japan’s OTT service ABEMA. It also led the variety show charts on iQIYI International in China.
Alpha Drive One (ALD1): Final Debut Lineup
Eight talented contestants secured their debut after ranking in the top spots during the final vote tally. Listed in order of their final ranking, the members of ALD1 are:
- Lee Sangwon (P01) – A 22-year-old trainee under GRID Entertainment. Formerly part of BIGHIT’s pre-debut project Trainee A, Sang-won gained attention with his viral performance of “Whiplash.” He placed first with 7,293,777 votes.
- Zhou Anxin (P02) – At 19, this Chinese trainee is signed under CHROMOSOME and Nouer Entertainment. Previously seen on Make Mate 1, Zhou impressed with consistent rankings and secured second place with 5,950,137 votes.
- He Xinlong (P03) – A 20-year-old rapper from NCC Entertainment and current member of BOY STORY. His prior idol experience helped him place third with 5,731,887 votes.
- Kim Geonwoo (P04) – The 22-year-old individual trainee trained with multiple companies before joining the show. Known for his steady performances, he placed fourth with 4,854,331 votes.
- Zhang Jiahao (P05) – A 23-year-old Chinese contestant under CHROMOSOME and Nouer Entertainment. He stood out for his dance in the “Chains” stage, ranking fifth.
- Lee Leo (P06) – A 23-year-old Korean-Australian trainee under GRID Entertainment and another Trainee A alum. As a versatile performer, he ranked sixth.
- Chung Sanghyeon (P07) – The youngest in the lineup, the 18-year-old WAKEONE Entertainment trainee is noted for his visuals and English ability. He placed seventh.
- Kim Junseo (P08) – A 23-year-old and the youngest member of boy group WEi under OUI Entertainment. His experience earned him the final debut spot with 3,856,677 votes.

The Top 16 Contestants
The debut lineup was selected from the top 16 competitors. The eight finalists who did not make the group were:

These contestants contributed to the finale stages, which featured two new tracks: the EDM hip-hop performance “Brat Attitude” and the upbeat “Never Been 2 Heaven.”
Alpha Drive One (ALD1) Debut
During the live broadcast, it was confirmed that Alpha Drive One will promote as a project group for five years under WakeOne. Soon after the finale, the group’s official social media accounts were launched and gave fans their first look at the members together. In their introductory video, the members expressed gratitude to supporters worldwide and closed with a group gesture forming a heart.
The name Alpha Drive One continues the Planet franchise’s tradition of themed titles. As explained during the show, the group’s name signifies one official team “united by the passion and drive to be number one.”
ALD1 is scheduled to officially debut in early 2026. Unlike earlier Mnet project groups such as Wanna One and ZEROBASEONE, who launched within three months of their respective finales, ALD1’s promotions will begin after ZEROBASEONE’s contract expires at the end of December 2025.
