The 23-year-old idol took to Weverse on October 10, 2025, to clarify the situation and apologize to fans, emphasizing that there was “nothing to worry about.”
The incident began when a sasaeng — an obsessive fan known for invading idols’ privacy — recorded a video outside a popular Seoul establishment, Orange Bar, and claimed it showed Huening Kai in an intimate moment with a woman. The video quickly spread online, prompting dating rumors and speculation among fans and netizens.
While some online users tried to dissect the clip, pointing to matching phone cases and sneakers as “evidence,” many fans quickly came to Huening Kai’s defense.
MOAs (TXT’s fandom) largely condemned the invasive act of secret filming, calling for better respect toward idols’ privacy. Others praised his behavior as considerate, noting that he appeared to be ensuring the woman’s safety. Some even theorized that the woman could have been his older sister, Lea.
Huening Kai later shared a detailed and emotional message on Weverse, offering his honest explanation and apology to fans.
